Arrangements can be made to provide various therapeutic services within the home or elsewhere. These services are available by appointment and are charged separately from the weekly fees.

Yes, we have a daily activities calendar for our residents to enjoy, with a wide range of stimulating and fun activities tailored to meet individual interests and needs.

  • Can you arrange appointments, such as a doctor’s appointment and provide transport?

Yes, we would be happy to do both, but would appreciate advance notice to ensure we have the staff available and access to the company vehicle.

  • Do you have visiting times at Sussex Grange?

No, there are no specific visiting times at our care home, as this is a home-from-home environment and visits should take place at a time that suits you best. We do ask that all visitors are mindful of other residents with regard to timing, noise, and privacy.

  • Can I have lunch with my loved one at Sussex Grange?

Absolutely! We welcome all friends and family members to join their loved one for a meal. Just let us know in advance, so that we can make appropriate arrangements.

  • Can I hold a special celebration for my loved one?

Yes, we hold celebrations quite often and can reserve one of our cabins for the occasion. Families are welcome to decorate and provide catering to suit their preferences, and with plenty of notice our team will be happy to provide and serve light refreshments.

  • What services do you provide?

Our services include personal care, such as help with getting up and dressed in the morning, washing or bathing, also help with medication, light meals preparation, assistance with personal affairs, end of life care, dementia care and companionship calls.

  • How long are the care visits available for?

Care visits can vary in times (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes) or longer, depending on your requirements.

  • How much do the care visits cost?

A list of charges is available on request. When you first contact us we will arrange for an initial complementary home assessment where a care professional will introduce themself and go through the help available, work out what your needs are and how much support you require before an individual care plan is made.

  • Will I have the same carer visit me?

As a small business, we are pleased to offer person-centered, individualised care for every one of our clients. Our carers take the time to get to know you and how you like things done, always offering the highest levels of dignity, respect, support and kindness. You will quickly get to know a small team of familiar faces who will regularly support you.

  • Can you adapt the care provided as my needs change?

Throughout our time supporting you, we will continue to listen to you, your family, and any other key individuals, to make sure that we can tailor and adapt our support to meet your changing needs. We always find that working together leads to the best outcomes.

Sussex Grange Day Guest Services

  • What time can day guests visit the home?

We’re a 24 hour service as a care home but day guests typically arrive between 9am – 5pm. We can, however, be flexible with this time.

  • What days can day guests visit on?

Day guests are welcomed Monday – Friday but booking is essential and must be done in advance as we have limited spaces.  You can come one day or five days a week or an ad hoc visit, providing we have space, but we will need to do an assessment first.

  • What facilities can day guests use?

Many of our guests like to use our accessible facilities during their visit, such as our assisted bath or walk-in wet room – sometimes people do not have this at home.  This can be used with or without the support of a care professional.

  • What activities are there for day guests?

Activities may include exercise, art and crafts, music therapy, cognitive games, social gatherings, and outings. Varied activities differ on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Please go to our Day Guests page for the current month’s planner.

  • What meals and snacks are available for day guests?

We serve nutritious, balanced meals and snacks. Dietary restrictions and allergies are accommodated. Day guests are welcome to join us for breakfast, a home cooked hot meal at lunchtime and tea time/ supper (or have a take-home packed meal such as sandwiches, cake, crisps etc ) - this is all included within the price. During the day a variety of drinks and snacks are also served.

  • How do I book a Day Guest in?

We need to complete an initial assessment before someone can attend so we can develop suitable care plans to understand the support they/you need. In order to do this, we can come to you, do this over the phone or you are welcome to book a viewing and we can complete the assessment then.

  • Can I have a care home viewing?

Interested parties are always welcome to come and view the home and we fully support unannounced visits, but you’ll have to take us as you find us.  If you want to have a full show around and combine this with an assessment, we do recommend you book this in, so we can ensure we have time dedicated just for you.

  • Do you offer support with medication?

We can support with promoting/reminding and administering medication.

  • What if I want to move into a residential room?

When we have a room vacancy our day guests are given first refusal. They are already a valued and welcome part of our Care Home community, and this works really well.  If you already know you would like to be considered for room vacancies, we highly suggest making us aware as soon as possible.

  • Do you provide transportation?

We are happy to welcome and see people off in a taxi.

Our home care service can provide transportation drop offs and collections, in fact many guests combine this with a short package of care and support to help them get ready for the visit and settled at home afterwards.

Family and friends can also pick up and drop off.

  • How much does adult day care cost as a Day Guest?

Our current price for Day Guest visits to our care home is £60 for the day, with no reduced rate for ½ days.
